China, US, Russia & EU started exploring 6G mobile

The 5G mobile networks barely ready, and China, The US, Russia and the EU have already begun conceptual design, research and planning for 6G which is expected to start rolling out around 2030.

According to Su Xin, leader of a 5G wireless technology working group at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in China. “The country expects to formally begin research and development works for the sixth generation wireless systems in 2020”, state media Securities Times reported this week.

6G would offer transmission speeds 10+ times faster than 5G, download speeds could reach 1TB per second. 6G could also bring big changes to wired and wireless network structures by extending services to broader areas and higher altitudes, connecting devices more efficiently.
