Google Set to Host Android Event

Android lovers should be incredibly excited. It seems that invitations have gone out for an event hosted by Google in New York City on the 29th of October at 10am for an event of some description. All we know at the moment is that this event will be focused on the Android Operating System and that the event invitation says ‘The Playground is Open’. It really is up to speculation isn’t it!

Of course, it is going to be related to Android Development, but what sort of development it is is completely unclear. Perhaps it is related to brand new hardware? However, not many rumors have been floating around recently about new hardware, all that appears to be touted about is the 32GB Nexus 7, but honestly, they wouldn’t host an event about that. There has also been a bit of information floating around about a Nexus 7 by LG, and that seems more likely.

It’s going to be an incredibly busy week for ‘mini-computer’ lovers whatever happens though. On October 23rd Apple are holding a press conference, and all information seems to point towards the fact they will be launching their iPad Mini there (something which they have struggled to keep under wraps it seems!) On the same day the Windows 8 Phone Event is going to be hosted by Microsoft, both of these are taking place in SF. Later on that week, on October 25th, Microsoft will hold their surface tablet event. Seems like tech journalists aren’t going to get much rest!
