HTC to come up with a phone with 1080p display

Smartphone maker HTC has been rumoured to come up with a 1080p display phone. After the 720p display the brand has been suspected to be working on a full HD display in their upcoming smartphone. The new HD resolution smartphone will be sport a 5 inch display. The phone is expected to be revealed in late September or early in the month of October this year. This news has been released by DigiTimes. As cited in their statement, the expected resolution will be of 1920×1080, which means full HD panel. Also there will be omission of the 126p vertical navigation panel which can currently been seen as onscreen navigation button in Android Ice Cream Sandwich.

Although there were some doubts about the prediction of DigiTimes, but they have also added that this phone has support in the shape of GLBenchmark results that matches the resolution as well as plans to keep the Android Operating System back in July this year. Also several other informations were brought to light in the GLBenchmark information sheet. The information reveals of using Qualcomm’s MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 SoC paired with Adreno 320 graphics in this new HD display phone. The chip will pump a maximum speed of 1.5GHz, which will be perfect of the crazily high resolution. Also it will take HTC a step higher in the success ladder for pushing ahead the Android specs.

Till now HTC has been pushing out Android phones twice annual, generally in autumn and springtime. The autumn session being more aggressive compared to the one in the spring. If the 5 inch Smartphone with the monster resolution comes out in the future then it might be prove to be a great success, but only if it has a reasonable and competitive price tag.

There is still no official declaration from HTC about the phone. But leaked sources indicate that they are working very hard to introduce full HD smartphones in the near future. Probably this phone will be a competitor for the Nokia Windows 8 smartphones as well as the Apple iPhone 5, which are expected to be revealed by the first two weeks of September. However, there is no news about the shape and the actual hardware of the HTC phone and in this case we can only wait till the phone shows up. It is to be noted that HTC has suffered financially in the past quarters, but a little more pressure can prove this phone with promising feature to be their savior.
